Application Process

In applying to Science & Arts Academy all applicants must: 

• Tour our campus and take part in an interview with the Admissions Director.
  To schedule your visit, call the Admissions Director or fill in the Inquiry Form and forward via email to be contacted regarding an appointment. Appointments are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. A complete admissions packet will be provided during your visit.
• Submit a completed application form with the $75 application fee.
  An application will be provided in the admissions packet. You may also download the application and mail this with the application fee and all required documents to the school. Please do not fax information to the school.
• Provide a photocopy of their birth certificate.
  Foreign born applicants will also provide proof of immigration/visa status.
• Complete a classroom visit.
  • Applicants who are age four and older will be scheduled to spend a day or part day in the classroom.
    This is an opportunity for the student to become familiar with our school, and our opportunity to become acquainted with him. The classroom visited is not necessarily the one to which the new student will be assigned. Most visits are scheduled during January, February, and March for enrollments the following September.

Applicants must include with their application:

IQ testing – Students entering kindergarten and above. Submit a complete evaluation report which will include sub-test scores and evaluator commentary with recommendations for educational programming and special services if needed. A reading assessment in also helpful.

Copy of the latest school report card or evaluation. Students who have completed a standardized test should include a copy of the latest results.

Request for student information form signed by a parent. Students who have completed kindergarten or above. (download here)

The admissions process is complete when all above requirements have been met. Parents and students will be notified of a decision within two weeks of completion. Accepted applicants will be admitted beginning March 16, with priority given to qualified siblings of current students who have completed the admissions process. When there are more candidates than space for a particular program, a wait pool is created and affected families notified.
