Pre-School/Kindergarten Early Learners ages 3 and 4 Young gifted children have special learning needs and interests. Their intellectual abilities far surpass their physical and motor skill development. Our classes provide learning experiences for children who exhibit characteristics advanced for their age in a setting sensitive to their social and emotional needs. Each day is filled with exploration and discovery. We know that time spent in play is time well spent. It is through play that imaginations soar and personalities shine. Our teachers provide a variety of fun, creative and dynamic activities seamlessly integrating subject matter and encouraging a willingness to explore and experiment. Musical and artistic opportunities add to this well-rounded, child-centered program. We focus on meeting the individual needs of our students, taking them where they are, and helping them achieve to the best of their ability. Those who are ready and show an interest are given the opportunity to participate in more advanced reading and math activities. Children in a full day program will be introduced to both the French and the Spanish languages. Above all, we want our students to love learning. Classes available for the 2008 school year are:
Children must be able to attend to their washroom needs independently. Kindergarten
Kindergarten continues the journey of life-long-learning. Our students will have met the admission criteria through intelligence quotient testing. This is a transition year developmentally as attention spans increase, motor skill tasks become easier, and children are more confident students. Play time and a comfortable, nurturing setting with additional academic challenges make kindergarten an enjoyable year as children adjust to a longer school day. |
