PROJECT CHEETAH & PROJECT ATHENA Shelley Ferguson sferguson@scienceandartsacademy.org Ms. Ferguson is in her 5th year with SAA and has been teaching for a total of 10 years. She serves in a variety of areas including Director of Cheetah & Athena Projects, Language Arts Department Chair, Language Arts Teacher, and Learning Resource Center Coordinator. Ms. Ferguson has a BA in Honors English from Wayne State University, MA in English Literature from Loyola University of Chicago, and an MFA in Film & Video from Columbia College – Chicago. She is a certified Master Gardener and has experience as a filmmaker, journalist (newspaper and magazine), HR professional, college instructor, and musician. Ms. Ferguson is an active member and President of the Chicago Businessmen’s Orchestra. She enjoys “reading” blueprints & architectural plans and gardening, of course! One of her recent favorite quotes is: “learning without thinking is labor lost; thinking without learning is dangerous” (Chinese Proverb). |
