Board of Trustees
As a not-for-profit organization, Science & Arts Academy has both an operating structure and a governing structure. The operating structure consists of the Head of School, who oversees all faculty, staff, and day-to-day operations and activities. The governing structure consists of the Board of Trustees, who are guided by the SAA by-laws.
The Board of Trustees holds the distinct, unique mission of our school in trust. The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) states, ". . . the board is the guardian of the schoolʹs mission."
The Board of Trustees engages in fiduciary oversight, strategic planning, and generative thinking, all in partnership with the Head of School, with the goal of seeing that SAA is continuing to meet its mission.
