A Community Stage Production Welcoming Current Students and Alumni to Shine

We are thrilled to announce that this summer, SAA Teacher Julie Gibbons and SAA Alum Allie Burdick will be co-directing Matilda the Musical at Science & Arts Academy! This special production will bring the whole SAA community together, with roles open to both current students (rising 3rd graders and older) and SAA alumni or former students eager to perform.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday, July 11; Sunday, July 12; Saturday, July 18; and Sunday, July 19.

We can’t wait to bring the joy, creativity, and mischief of Matilda to life with our SAA community! Questions? Contact us.

Choreography Instruction

For middle school students and alumni planning to audition, the instructional dance video is now available. Learning the choreography is optional for initial auditions but will be required for callbacks.

While optional, it is strongly encouraged to learn the dance and either submit a video in advance or perform it at your audition.

*Lower school students do not need to learn this choreography, as it is not part of their audition.

Audition Information

We are looking for more than just performers! This production is a full community effort, and we welcome alumni, alumni parents, current parents, and staff to get involved. There are many ways to contribute, including constructing and painting sets, running lights and sound, serving as backstage crew, helping with costumes and props, supporting the music, creating programs, and more!

Volunteer

There are many ways for parents and alumni to get involved in Matilda the Musical . We could use a lot of help behind the scenes from our amazing community!  If you're able and interested in donating some time to this special production, let us know what special talents you're willing to share.
