Mike Bott

Middle School Math
​Advisor

Mr. Bott has taught middle school math and has served as an Advisor since 2018. He loves to engage learners of every age, and works to create a nurturing, supportive environment where students can grow. In addition to teaching middles school math, Mr. Bott coaches the Math Club and Math Team, and is a coach for the middle school basketball team.

Prior to coming to SAA, Mr. Bott spent the previous sixteen years teaching overseas, in American-accredited schools in Bangladesh, Egypt, Vietnam and China. He has taught students from kindergarten through 12th grade, from self-contained elementary classrooms, to math, science, and language arts classes. He has International Baccalaureate experience in both the Middle Year Program and the Diploma Program, teaching math, science, technology and theory of knowledge. 

In addition to his classroom experience, Mr. Bott has served as an IT Coordinator at schools in the U.S. and abroad, and has been in administrator roles developing and evaluating programs for a district of nearly 50,000 students. 
 
He received his bachelors degree in liberal studies from California State University - Sacramento and maintains professional memberships with the International Society for Technology in Education, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Computer-Using Educators. 

Mr. Bott’s wife Anh is from Vietnam. They have two children and reside in Chicago.
