Senora Contreras has served as the lower school Spanish teacher at SAA since 2015. Born in Argentina, she is a native Spanish speaker and received her bachelors in elementary education from the National University of the Comahue in Argentina.
Senora Contreras came to the United States after her college graduation to further her English language skills with aspirations of becoming a teacher. She always knew she wanted to become a teacher, but while teaching Spanish in Chicago, she realized teaching foreign language was a passion. Seeing students connecting to new cultures and building new relationships based on similarities between their cultures brought her great joy.
As a resident of Des Plaines, Senora Contreras was familiar with SAA and after meeting many families in the SAA community, she decided to pursue a teaching opportunity at the school. She has been so happy being a part of the special community that SAA offers.
When she is not in the classroom, Senora Contreras enjoys spending time with her family, camping, travel, dancing, and biking.
