Diana brings over 18 years experience to SAA as our School Nurse. Diana leads Health Services at SAA and is available for students’ needs during the school year. Diana is an advocate, liaison, and consultant on health related issues for students, families, and the school community. She also works on SAA’s COVID response protocols, including the training of staff and faculty throughout the year.
Diana has over five years of advanced practice experience backed by a 10 year hospital nursing career in diverse critical care, surgical, and emergency settings. At the University of Rhode Island, Diana served as faculty teaching Nursing Fundamentals, Medical/Surgical Clinicals and Simulation Lab classes. “I love doing health education, advocating for my patients and creating healthy communities.”
Diana earned her BSN from the University of Massachusetts where she was an Honors Program Member, Commonwealth Scholar, Spirit of Nursing Award Recipient. Later Diana went on to earn an MSN from the University of Rhode Island. She holds Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licenses, and is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, an honor society for nursing.
Diana is an SAA parent and former SAA Family & School Association Co-Chair. When she’s not at school you can find her spending time with family, gardening, or travelling.
