Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten Programs
Science & Arts Academy is committed to providing an appropriate and differentiated education for even our youngest students.
Children are guided through these two years by faculty who are uniquely trained to manage the vast diversity of interests, talents and development present amongst four- to six-year-olds. A love of learning is going to blossom at Science & Arts Academy!
Four-year-olds in Junior Kindergarten integrate imaginative play with academic. The JK learning environment encompasses language development, math readiness, science exploration, world studies, artistic experiences, and more. Teachers also integrate gross and fine motor activities, play and social emotional learning. The Kindergarten program provides students the opportunity to learn at a developmentally appropriate level alongside gifted peers. Students will have met the IQ testing requirements prior to beginning the Kindergarten year. As the bridge to first grade is built throughout the year, students will be grouped according to educational and developmental needs in math and reading. Art, music, drama, physical education, and time working with technology makes Kindergarten fun but keeps their imaginations at work.
*Students must be 5 years old by September 1st (of their application year) in order to be eligible for Kindergarten
