Joining SAA in 2015, Aaron Kimmel teaches algebra, algebra 2, and precalculus. He is also a middle school Advisor and Chair of the Middle School Math Department.
Mr. Kimmel earned bachelor degrees in both mathematics and English at Franklin & Marshall College, and a masters in creative writing from The Pennsylvania State University. Over the past 15 years he has taught a wide range of courses including calculus, college rhetoric and composition, technical writing, and creative writing. Somewhere in between, he’s written curriculum for online educational games and has hiked the Appalachian Trail.
His continued curiosity is well fed at SAA, where he can lead an elective on paper flower making or coach the Wind Power team for Science Olympiad. “This is the first school I’ve taught in to truly value the expansive possibility of education. It rejects the notion that giftedness requires a single track or sits tidily in its place.”
Outside of the classroom you might find him hiking, writing, gardening, or experimenting in his kitchen.
