Unfortunately there is an ad before each podcast, but the sports content scores a goal! 

Brains On! is a podcast which comes highly recommended by SAA students. This award-winning science podcast for kids and curious adults invites a different kid host each week to join Molly Bloom in the studio to find answers to fascinating questions about the world. Episodes of Brains On! can be enjoyed by anyone–there is no age limit! Consider listening to these recent podcasts: Fart smarts: understanding the gas we pass; Fire vs. Lasers; and Cats: Glowing eyes, puffy tails, and secret purrs. Fun, right? This podcast is part of the Brains On Universe set of podcasts, which includes Smash Boom Best, Forever Ago, and Moments of Um. They are produced by American Public Media.

If your family loves trivia and oddball facts, Part-Time Genius is a must-listen! Hosted by Will and Mango, this engaging podcast tackles quirky questions like Who built the first swimming pool? and What’s the world’s most ridiculous video game? With episodes covering everything from 9 Chomp-worthy Facts about Alligators to 9 Important Facts about Donuts (did you know Dunkin’ Donuts threw a retirement parade for their famous “Time to make the donuts” actor?), there’s something to entertain every curious mind.

Episodes run 30–45 minutes and are perfect for teens who enjoy fun, offbeat knowledge.

Bedtime History, created by dad Breck, began as a way to share exciting history stories with his kids, which became so popular he turned it into a podcast. With a mission to “improve the lives of children worldwide by instilling a love of history,” the podcast offers fun, child-friendly episodes about topics like Stan Lee, Jim Henson, and the Indus River Valley Civilization. Lasting about ten minutes, these podcasts are perfect for any time of day and can be streamed on YouTube or your favorite podcast service.

As a parent of three gifted children,  Sophia Elliott talks about all things gifted on her Our Gifted Kids podcast. She tackles the joys and challenges of parenting these awesome quirky little people. This Podcast is about sharing that journey, actually parenting gifted kids and connecting with advice and support so we have everything we need for every member of our family to thrive.

Greeking Out is a podcast from National Geographic Kids. This podcast for all mythology aficionados is in its 10th season and focuses on a kid-friendly retelling of ancient Greek myths. National Geographic Kids’ companion book would be a great way to continue the mythological mayhem long after the podcast is finished. Highly recommended by SAA families and staff,  both book and podcasts are appropriate for all ages.

Wow in the World is an award winning podcast from TinkerCast that features great questions of science, such as So You Wanna Be An Astronaut, The World Series of Spitting, or even DNA Sculptures. Podcasts are appropriate for all ages, and last between 20 and 30 minutes.

A favorite of SAA kids for years now, Story Pirates is run by a team of improv actors and celebrities who take kids' stories and convert them into magic!  Winner of the 2020 and 2022 iHeartRadio awards for Best Kids and Family Podcast, The Story Pirates Podcast is one of the top three kids and family podcasts in the world.

The cool part is that Story Pirates welcomes kid stories–if your aspiring playwright submits their own story they may even have it turned into a podcast. The fun part is listening to stories that other kids have written.  

Fun Fact: in 2015, before Story Pirates was a podcast, two SAA kids had their story turned into an actual Story Pirates play in New York City!
