When guests arrive at SAA’s Front Office, they’re likely to be greeted with a friendly smile from Ms. Bethany Mullins, our Administrative Assistant. From day-to-day school operations and managing attendance to field trips, Ms. Mullins helps keep SAA organized and running smoothly. When she is not at the Front Desk, you can find her assisting Girl Scout Troop 41508.
Ms. Mullins took on the role of Administrative Assistant in 2015. Through involvement in many special events at school, and as a partner in planning and organizing school trips, SAA families know Ms. Mullins to be a caring and familiar face each and every day. “I have learned what giftedness is and gotten to know this community. It's become a place I love.“
Ms. Mullins was drawn to education to be a part of an environment that makes all students feel successful and valued. She first became interested in teaching at the high school level while tutoring Algebra to younger Evanston Township High School students. Ms. Mullins went on to attend Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia where she was involved as a Kalon Scholar, Cheerleader, and English Department Fellow. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a minor in Secondary Education. Ms. Mullins holds a current PEL.
Ms. Mullins was a Warren Cherry Scholar, among various English Department awards at the college. She is still involved in The Warren Cherry Scholarship Fund organization, serving as a Board Member who mentors current scholars interested in pursing work with children.
Outside of SAA, Ms. Mullins enjoys spending time with her husband and family, hiking, cooking, playing board games, and shopping.
