The trunk of a beloved Cypress tree from the original SAA building had been carved into an eagle in honor of our 25th anniversary celebration.

We're excited to announce that our SAA Eagle’s name is Cyprus! Thank you to all who took the time to submit such great names, and also took the time to vote! Until we find a permanent location, Cyprus is on display in the front office, so feel free to stop by and say hi!
The National Merit Semifinalist announcements were recently publicized. Five SAA class of 2014 graduates earned this distinction: AJ, Matthew, Annelise, James, and Lucas. This is a very impressive accomplishment as only about 16,000 students of the 1.6 million students that take the test become semi-finalists, representing the top 0.01% of all test takers. Congrats to our SAA alumni!
SAA was once again well-represented at Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) Awards Ceremony this past Saturday, September 9th! NUMATS offers above-grade level testing to gifted students: PSAT 8/9 for students in grades 3-6 and SAT/ACT for students in grades 6-9. Those honored at the 2017 NUMATS awards ceremony scored in the top 2% of over 12,000 students from throughout the Midwest and from states as far away as Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Oregon. Current and former SAA students receiving awards were fifth grader Grace, 7th grader Jaden, 8th grader Michael, and SAA alum Ellie.
