The energy surrounding the CmPS International Conference (IC) in East Lansing, Michigan last weekend was inspiring. The competition was fierce, and it was a great experience to see how teams from countries across the globe are focusing their efforts. Our students handled themselves beautifully, demonstrating their knowledge, dedication and commitment to making the world a better place.
Our SAA students received lots of positive feedback from the judges and seemed pleased with the results of their hard work. Little did we know that on Sunday morning, one of our teams would end up on stage to accept an award! Please join me in congratulating our Junior Division Team, who won third place in the environmental category of the competition for their commitment to reducing the number of bird collisions in the metropolitan Chicago area. This was a huge accomplishment, as it was the first time SAA was represented at the IC.
We are very proud of both of our CmPS teams and would also like to recognize the students who represented Project CARP in the Middle Division competition. Their commitment to pollution reduction in the Des Plaines River was very well received at the IC, and we look forward to watching them take their project to the next level. Congrats to both of our CmPS teams!
