Thirty-two students from Science & Arts Academy participated in the math contest held this past Saturday at Latin School of Chicago. At least five of our students competed above their grade levels. There were 17 schools in attendance with a total of 84 teams. SAA was one of only five schools with a full set of eight teams. If anyone asks why we spend most every Friday doing math, any of these kiddos will tell you, because it's fun!
Highlights and results from the meet are as follows:
Individual Honors:
An SAA student received 3rd place for all 5th graders
An SAA student received 1st place for all 7th graders
Team Honors:
Both 5th grade teams earned a team award
The League of Logarithms earned 4th place
The Pi Cats earned 3rd place
The Pi^Face earned 1st place
