We have a total of 54 SAA Middle School students participating in the Purple Comet Math Meet. This is an international math meet that happens every spring. At SAA, this event is open to all Middle School students who are interested, and we have nine teams who will compete this year. The Purple Comet Math Meet is held in over 20 countries around the world during a ten day period each spring. This math meet is available to both middle school and high school students. Students work in teams up to six students, and each team may use math books, notes from class, math reference books and calculators. Each middle school team has one hour to solve 20 challenging math problems.
It helps to have teams composed of students in different math courses or with different levels of math meet experiences, so all together they have a well rounded team. Let's support the students from SAA who will participate in the Purple Comet Math Meet!
