As kids and families settle into the new realities of distance learning, the challenges that they face extend beyond their daily school work. On Wednesday, May 20 SAA's Director of Enrollment, Mindy Hildebrandt hosted two Snapshot virtual 30-minute events for parents on two very timely topics.
During our first Snapshot, Helping Kids Cope With Change, SAA school counselor Carolyn Manley shared how parents can support kids through the difficult and ever-changing challenges brought forth by this pandemic.
In the second 30-minute Snapshot, Executive Function in Distance Learning, SAA’s Dr. Ama Thompson helped parents navigate the unique executive functioning challenges that distance learning can present. You can view both presentations here.
Both Mrs. Manley and Dr. Thompson offered actionable strategies parents can use at home today and have offered their support to those interested in learning more. For specific questions, reach out at cmanley@scienceandartsacademy.org or athompson@scienceandartsacademy.org.
Stay tuned for more Snapshot events this summer!
