As Math Teacher and Lower School Math Department Chair, Lisa Pang brings knowledge and understanding of gifted learners to shape math programming within SAA’s classrooms and curriculum.
Mrs. Pang began teaching in a 3rd grade classroom, after receiving her bachelors from Concordia University. Mrs. Pang obtained her masters in gifted education from Northeastern Illinois University. While working to further her own professional education at Dominican University, Lisa met Dr. Mary Christensen, Head of School at SAA at that time.
Her coursework and connections with Dr. Christensen piqued her interest in gifted education, and led Lisa to SAA in 2004. She began as a learning resource for small groups of students within the classroom providing instruction in both reading and math. Shortly after, Lisa began teaching first and second grade students as a homeroom teacher, where she remained for 10 years. Currently, she teaches math to third through sixth graders.
When she is not at SAA, Mrs. Pang is a physical education teacher for the Summer Gifted and Talented Program at Dominican University. She has worked with this program for over fifteen years, and looks forward to seeing new and returning students annually. Professionally, she has presented and attended the Illinois Association for Gifted Conference, as well as the ISACS conferences.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Pang enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
