Young Learners Program

Due to the unforeseen situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Science & Arts Academy has cancelled all on-site Summer Adventures in Learning programs for the summer 2020 season. We've maintained the information below to provide prospective families with details about our typical program offerings.

Our Young Learners Program is a holistic school readiness experience that combines learning and fun for preschool and kindergarten age children. A thematic, multi-disciplinary curriculum encourages academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Activities are engaging, interactive, and challenging, and they are designed with the differentiated development and educational needs of the child in mind. Examples of previous session themes include insects, plants, outer space, weather, ocean and community safety.

The morning program is focused on enrichment and campers are grouped by age in separate classrooms. The afternoon program is focused on recreation. Campers form a mixed-age group for many of their activities, although there are some opportunities for same-age groupings.

We maintain a 1:10 staff to child ratio and maximum class size of 20. Meet our Young Learner's Teachers »

All campers (3 years to 8th grade) are together in Extended Care. Available activities include: arts and crafts, books, and board games, and campers in Aftercare can play outside or in the gym. A light snack is offered around 4:30pm every afternoon. Please refer to the 2020 Camp Dates & Rates page for fees and complimentary times. Extended Care is a drop-in service so families are billed based on usage after each two-week session.

Lunch
Science & Arts Academy partners with Gourmet Gorilla to provide nutritious camp lunches for full day campers only. Families can order a hot lunch option that includes a main course, two sides, and full salad bar! Families may also order boxed lunches and a la carte items. Finalized menus and ordering instructions are sent close to the start of camp (sample menus). All orders are taken through Gourmet Gorilla’s website and cost between $5.00 - $7.00 per day. If opting not to order through Gourmet Gorilla, campers may bring a packed lunch from home.
