Summer Adventures in Learning Team

Sara Stanke
​Director of Auxiliary Programs
Sara has been a successful leader bringing over fifteen years of progressive management responsibility and achievement to SAA. Most recently she was with the Park District of Highland Park as the director of  ParkSchool, an award winning program serving over 100 families, as well as managing summer camps and transportation programs.  She is experienced in multiple facets of management including departmental supervision, educational program development, and training.  Sara loves to spend time with her family traveling and doing outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and skiing.  Summer and summer activities are her favorite time of year and she can't wait to meet your families!

Celina W.

Celina W. has been working at Summer Adventures in Learning since 2016. She has served as both a counselor and a head counselor, and she also takes on various roles throughout the school years at SAA including a classroom supervisor and a substitute teacher. Celina graduated with a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology in May 2021 and is planning to work in a school this fall. She loves dogs (especially her puppy, Pierogi), knitting, reading, and traveling! She can’t wait to kick off the summer!

Clare N. has recently completed her master's of secondary education with an endorsement in both chemistry and physics at DePaul University. She has served as a Summer Camp Counselor at Science & Arts Academy for two years and looks forward to continuing the growth and success of this program on the leadership team this summer. Clare is extremely excited to welcome campers back to SAA for a safe and engaging summer!

Eleni K.
Eleni K. currently serves as Program Coordinator at SAA, responsible for supporting the planning and execution of our Summer Adventures in Learning. Eleni has over 15 years of experience in domestic and international education, including administration, teaching, and program management. After studying Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Eleni obtained a Certificate of Office Management in New York City. She is currently pursuing her bachelors in community engagement and education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Matt W. is currently a social studies teacher at Waukegan High School in northern Illinois. He is the Social Studies representative on the STEAM team, which targets instruction towards students left behind by traditional methods. He studied history and social science for secondary education at Illinois State University. While at ISU, Matt spent two fantastic summers as a Summer Adventures in Learning counselor. Now, he looks forward to stepping into his new coordinator role and helping provide SAA's campers with another educational and unforgettable summer!

Mikayla D.

Mikayla D. has been working with Summer Adventures and Learning for four years, and is incredibly jazzed to return this upcoming summer. She has recently graduated with the highest honors, from Illinois State University, earning her bachelor's in education degree (K-12 health and physical education). Mikayla is currently a licensed health teacher at Indian Trail Junior High, located in Addison, Illinois.

Robyn M. recently received a master's in school and community counseling from Loyola University Chicago in August 2020, and additionally holds a BA in psychology from the University of Dayton. She currently works as a professional school counselor at Marist High School in Chicago. Robyn is very excited for her fourth summer with Summer Adventures in Learning! She looks forward to reconnecting with returning campers, and building relationships with new campers.
