3D Printing Lab
Experience the technology that makes 3D printing possible. Campers learn how to use computer-aided design software and the many applications of 3D printing in our world today through making a variety of unique creations. In past summers, through teacher led lessons campers have created keychains, snowflakes and fidget spinners. Campers also have designated time to design and print their own creative projects. By the end of the session campers come away with the necessary information to understand and run a 3D printer, and problem solve printer and design issues along the way. This is a class for those who want to dig deep, problem-solve, and create! Grades: 4-8 | Teacher: Julie Lettner (Session 1), Mike Bott (Session 2/3)

Archery
It's not summer camp without archery! Imagine aiming the arrow at the target like Princess Merida or Robin Hood...From the first day, campers will learn the basic terminology, technique, and safety for archery. Each day includes practice rounds and group challenge games like Tic Tac Toe and War of the Worlds. Due to the importance of maintaining a safe environment, campers must be prepared to follow all safety instructions. This class takes place outside (tent available for shade) but moves inside during inclement weather. Grades: 1-8 | Teacher: Joan Pinz (Session 1/2/3)

Bedazzling Beads
Beads offer endless possibilities and colors that transform ordinary objects into decorative works of art. Explore the beading process of making jewelry (e.g. necklaces, bracelets, pins, and earrings), keychains, bookmarks, sun catchers, ornaments, and critters. Plus learn simple wire wrappings of semi-precious stones. Create your own beaded masterpieces! Grades: 2-8 | Kim Darling (Session 2/3)

Bicycle Safari
How would you like to explore the environment firsthand? Join your peers in observing and studying the urban wilderness located within biking distance of SAA. Bike daily to Kloempken Prairie, Big Bend Lake, and other natural areas along the Des Plaines River Trail. Practice hands-on testing and observation skills, and learn about botany, species identification, ecology, water quality, index species, meteorology, daytime astronomy, erosion, invasive species, and many other topics related to the environment. Additionally, basic bicycle safety and maintenance will be taught. All participants must bring their own bike which can be kept secured in the building, or call the school to make arrangements to rent a bike for an additional fee. Grades: 5-8 | Darrin Bonecutter (Session 2)

Build a Play
Build a Play introduces campers to theatre skills in voice and movement, increasing self-confidence and collaborative skills through the adaptation of familiar stories and devising of new work.
