Mrs. Storiz began her career in education in 1994 and joined the SAA faculty in 2004. Currently she teaches physics, environmental science, and 4th and 8th grade science courses.
Mrs. Storiz is the SAA Elementary Science Olympiad Head Coach. In 2014 she received the Outstanding Science Olympiad Coach of the Year Award. While under her leadership, the SAA Science Olympiad team accomplishments include 1st place in regional competition (2013 and 2014), and being nationally ranked (14th in the nation).
Mrs. Storiz is a published author and teaches a creative writing elective class at SAA.. Her novelette Relevant is included in Kyanite Press "Shattered Worlds," an anthology featuring 11 authors and their takes on dystopian societies.
She received her bachelor's in anthropology and archaeology and her master's in curriculum design and instruction from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and is a Science Olympiad Board Member. Mrs. Storiz has received a Women in Leadership Award, a Merit Award Scholarship, and was a Golden Apple Nominee.
Outside of her classroom lab, you can find her writing, reading, quilting, photographing, hiking, camping and fishing.
