Option 2: Full-Day Program
Morning Enrichment + Afternoon Recreation
9:00am - 3:00pm

Eligibility
This program is open to all children entering 1st-8th grade in Fall 2026. Classes are arranged by grade level groupings.

Overview
The Full-Day* Morning Enrichment  + Afternoon Recreation Program provides opportunities for campers to have a morning enrichment class schedule and also get exercise, make new friends, build leadership and teamwork skills during the afternoon.

During the Afternoon Recreation program, fully trained camp counselors (generally a 1:10 counselor to camper ratio) lead cooperative games, sports oriented games, water games, team building activities and other engaging, non-competitive camp favorites for small, grade level groups. Most activities take place on our large soccer field, playground and black top area, or in the gymnasium.

Each Wednesday and Friday, students enrolled in Afternoon Recreation visit Mystic Waters Family Aquatic Center.

For 5th-8th grade campers who prefer exploration over swimming, you may add the Afternoon Adventurers option. On Wednesdays and Fridays, instead of visiting the aquatic center, Adventurers will take field trips to the following destinations: Lake Park in Des Plaines for paddle boating and foot golf ( 2 trips); Mountain View Adventure Center for mini golf and batting cages; and First Ascent Climbing and Fitness. Campers are transported in the SAA shuttle and accompanied by two counselors.

Schedule
Each two-week session offers three consecutive one-hour periods of enrichment classes from 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Each of the three classes starts at the top of the hour; 9:00am, 10:00am and 11:00am. Families choose their child's class schedule during the registration process and campers follow that daily schedule for that specific session.  See the 2026 lineup of enrichment class options »

Campers eat lunch together in their afternoon groups, then transition into recreation time. After lunch, they take part in a variety of afternoon activities. Dismissal is at 3:00pm.

*Campers in the Full-Day Program must bring a lunch and snacks from home and are eligible for Before and Aftercare.
