Mrs. Tinaglia-Blohm teaches language arts, math, and social studies at Science & Arts Academy, and is a second grade homeroom teacher.
She came to SAA in 2003 and has over 25 years of experience teaching children in public and private schools from all ability levels and backgrounds. "I raised gifted children of my own and love being able to utilize those personal skills within my career. Genuine relationships are extremely important to me which guide me daily in my work with both the kids in my classroom and their families. I love learning how to be a better and more creative teacher daily as I work alongside such unique and talented children."
Mrs. Tinaglia-Blohm obtained her BA in education from Trinity International University, and a BA in culinary arts from The Culinary Institute of America. Before she began teaching in 1998, she served as the Food and Beverage Director at the Kellogg School of Management, the Executive Pastry Chef at the Ritz Carlton Chicago, and as the personal chef to the great-granddaughter of John D. Rockefeller. Additionally, she lived in Italy and studied Italian language, culture, and cooking. Her hospitality background has given her the skills needed to thrive in a team-based environment where she can have a lifelong impact on students.
Mrs. Tinaglia Blohm is active outside her classroom, counseling and providing support to single parents and children of divorce through her church, volunteering in local elections, and teaching cooking classes to inspire children to make healthy and fun meals. She also enjoys leading a life-group at her church, as well as hiking, reading and social gatherings.
